Laboratory assay overview

Adalimumab is a therapeutic monoclonal antibody with the ability to bind to tumor necrosis factor (TNF), an inflammatory cytokine, blocking its action. Adalimumab is indicated for the treatment of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, plaque psoriasis, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis. It is not significantly immunogenic and only a small percentage of treated patients develop antibodies. However, in these patients, antibodies may be associated with lower trough levels of the drug. Results >12 AU/mL indicate the presence of anti-drug antibody.

Verify these ranges and sources

We compile every detail above directly from named laboratory directories and published clinical studies. Laboratories calculate standard reference intervals from the statistical distribution of tested populations for a specific assay method and demographic group, rather than setting universal optimal targets.
