Ranges

Each lab publishes a reference range for the population groups it tests, usually the middle 95% of results. These intervals describe that population, not an optimal or healthy target. How ranges differ

  • AD-Detect™ ABeta 42/40 and p-tau217 Evaluation, Plasma 14258

4 analytes · Plasma · Fasting not stated

    Method and collection
    Method
Immunoassay (IA) • Liquid Chromatography/Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS/MS)
    Preparation
Patients should be cautioned to stop biotin consumption at least 72 hours prior to collection of a sample
    Collection
Quest Diagnostics does not perform this test for individuals under the age of 18. Pre-test and post-test counseling is strongly recommended. Collect blood into a K2 EDTA (lavender-top) tube and mix by inversion 10 times. Centrifuge to separate plasma from cells within 1 hour of collection. Carefully transfer plasma into 2 separate polypropylene tubes or 2 separate Quest issued polypropylene pour-off/transfer tubes. Do not transfer to conical tubes. Store frozen.

Verify these ranges and sources

We compile this page from named laboratory catalogs, guidelines and studies. Labs calculate reference intervals from the people they test, for one assay method and one population group, so an interval describes that population rather than an optimal target.
