Panels that include this biomarker

  • Drug Toxicology Opioids, with Confirmation, Oral Fluid 93987

6 analytes · 1 mL oral fluid inserted into 3 mL buffer collected in Quantisal™ device · Fasting not stated · Turnaround Set up: Daily

    Method and collection
    Method
    Mass Spectrometry (MS)
    Preparation
Quantisal™: Avoid any food or drink consumption, or gum or tobacco use for 10 minutes prior to collecting. If donor's mouth is not empty immediately prior to collection, have subject rinse mouth with water (up to 4 oz) and wait a minimum of 10 minutes before collecting a specimen.
    Collection
Quantisal™: Using the standard Quantisal™ collection container, place the swab under the tongue. Donor should keep head down to allow gravity to help with saliva collection. Leave in place until blue dye indicates that the collection pad is saturated sufficiently. Follow collection instructions on package.

Panels that include this biomarker

  • Drug Abuse Profile, Oral Fluid (12 Drug Classes) (Labcorp MedWatch®) 770188

    14 analytes · Saliva · Fasting not stated · Turnaround 4 - 6 days

    Method and collection
    Method
Initial testing by Immunoassay (IA); confirmation of positives by Mass Spectrometry (MS)
    Collection
Note: The donor should refrain from consumption of food or beverages for a minimum of 10 minutes prior to specimen collection. An oral fluid specimen is collected by placing a cellulose pad affixed to a polypropylene stem (collector) under the tongue of an individual until a defined volume of saliva has saturated the cellulose pad. The defined volume taken up by the cellulose pad is indicated by coloration (blue) in a window on the stem (volume adequacy), approximately three to five minutes. Place the collection pad device into the plastic transport tube provided, pad first. Snap the red cap firmly to ensure that the tube is closed tightly.

We compile this page from named laboratory catalogs, guidelines and studies. Labs calculate reference intervals from the people they test, for one assay method and one population group, so an interval describes that population rather than an optimal target.
