Single-analyte tests

  • Digoxin 007385

Serum · Fasting not stated · Turnaround Within 1 day

    Method and collection
    Method
Kinetic interaction of microparticles in solution (KIMS)
    Collection
If a red-top tube is used, transfer separated serum to a plastic transport tube. Blood specimen must be drawn six to eight hours after the administration of the last dose (levels drawn earlier than six hours after a dose will be artificially elevated). Collect specimen just before dose if steady-state estimate is needed. The steady-state is usually attained in five days.
    Reference notes
    0.5−0.9 ng/mL

    Method
Kinetic interaction of microparticles in solution (KIMS)
    Collection
If a red-top tube is used, transfer separated serum to a plastic transport tube. Random collection is for those cases in which a digoxin is collected at a time other than the ideal collection time. Ideally, blood specimen is drawn six to eight hours after the administration of the last dose (levels drawn earlier than six hours after a dose will be artificially elevated). Collect specimen just before dose if steady-state estimate is needed. The steady-state is usually attained in five days.

We compile this page from named laboratory catalogs, guidelines and studies. Labs calculate reference intervals from the people they test, for one assay method and one population group, so an interval describes that population rather than an optimal target.
