Ranges
Each lab publishes a reference range for the population groups it tests, usually the middle 95% of results. These intervals describe that population, not an optimal or healthy target. How ranges differ
Quest Diagnostics, Hepatitis D Virus RNA, Quantitative Real-Time PCR 37889
| Population | Interval |
|---|---|
| Hepatitis D Virus RNA, QN, RT PCR | Not Detected (IU/mL) |
| Hepatitis D Virus RNA, QN, PCR | Not Detected (Log IU/mL) |
Tests
Check the catalog code, specimen, method and preparation for every test that measures HDV RNA quantitation. Select up to five tests to compare them side by side.

Hepatitis D Virus (HDV) RNA, Quantitative PCR 550653
2 analytes · Serum · Fasting not stated · Turnaround 4 - 7 days
Labcorp catalog pageMethod and collection
- Method
- The HDV RNA quantitative assay is an in vitro reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) laboratory developed test for the quantification of HDV RNA from human serum or EDTA-plasma.
- Collection
- Centrifuge whole blood sample within 24 hours of collection. Transfer EDTA plasma to a screw-cap polypropylene transport tube. Ship frozen (preferred). Serum from a plastic SST can be frozen and shipped in situ.

- Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction
- Collection
- Separate serum from whole blood within 24 hours. Freshly collected whole blood may be stored at 2-25° C for up to 24 hours before separation. Serum should be transported frozen on dry ice in transport tubes.

Verify these ranges and sources
We compile this page from named laboratory catalogs, guidelines and studies. Labs calculate reference intervals from the people they test, for one assay method and one population group, so an interval describes that population rather than an optimal target.
