Tests that measure Moxifloxacin

Antimicrobial Susceptibility NocardiaAerobic Actinomycetes MIC

Laboratory
Quest Diagnostics
Test code
90396
Specimen
Pure culture of Nocardia spp.
Fasting
Not stated as required

What the laboratory says this test is for

Rapidly growing mycobacteria and Nocardia/aerobic actinomycetes can cause a variety of serious infections, particularly in immunocompromised patients. Resistance, toxicity, intolerance, and therapeutic failures may occur with traditional empiric treatment with drugs of choice. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing, especially with newer agents, may help to guide appropriate therapeutic choices.

Mycobacterium avium Complex MIC Panel

Laboratory
Quest Diagnostics
Test code
19796
Specimen
1 slant/plate/broth pure culture of isolate safely contained in Lowenstein-Jensen or Middlebrook 7H10 agar slant/plate or equivalent or positive AFB broth medium isolate safely contained in a double-walled container
Fasting
Not stated as required

What the laboratory says this test is for

Mycobacterium avium and other slow-growing mycobacteria cause a variety of human infections. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing may be an aid for treatment options.

Mycobacterium Slow Grower MIC

Laboratory
Quest Diagnostics
Test code
19775
Specimen
1 slant
Fasting
Not stated as required

What the laboratory says this test is for

Mycobacterium avium and other slow-growing mycobacteria cause a variety of human infections. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing may be an aid for treatment options.

Antimicrobial Susceptibility AFB Rapid Grower MIC

Laboratory
Quest Diagnostics
Test code
19079
Specimen
Pure culture of a Runyon Group IV Mycobacteria (rapid growers) collected in an appropriate culture media - See Collection Instructions
Fasting
Not stated as required

What the laboratory says this test is for

The role of rapidly growing Mycobacteria, especially M. fortuitum and M. chelonae, as agents of human disease has become more clearly established in modern times. Primary antitubercular drugs generally are not effective in the treatment of these organisms. Therapy had shifted to the use of antimicrobial agents routinely used to treat other bacterial infections.

Everything above is drawn from the named sources and shown as they published it. Reference ranges belong to the laboratory that issued them and the population it named; they are not a universal normal. This page describes the biomarker in general and does not interpret anyone's result. For your own numbers, talk to a clinician, or use Aumnivida, which reads the same graph next to your records.
