Respiratory Virus PCR Panel I 91246
7 analytes · Swab · Fasting not stated
Quest Diagnostics catalog pageMethod and collection
- Method
- Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction • Real-Time Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR)
- Collection
- Swab samples in M4, VCM or UTM transport media: Use only sterile Dacron or Rayon swabs. Do not use calcium alginate swabs, as they may contain substances that inhibit PCR testing. Break applicator sticks off near the tip to permit tightening of the cap. Bronchial lavage/wash: Collect in a sterile container with a leak-proof cap. Sputum: Collect in a sputum collection kit or sterile plastic container with a leak-proof cap. Quest Diagnostic Patient Service Centers and Quest in-office phlebotomists do not collect respiratory specimens, including those from patients suspected to have COVID-19.

We compile this page from named laboratory catalogs, guidelines and studies. Labs calculate reference intervals from the people they test, for one assay method and one population group, so an interval describes that population rather than an optimal target.
