Labcorp 3 tests

Single-analyte tests

  • Voriconazole, Serum or Plasma 700353

    Serum · Fasting not stated · Turnaround 3 - 7 days

    Method and collection
    Method
    Liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS)
    Collection
Transfer separated serum or plasma to a plastic transport tube. Do not use a gel barrier tube. The use of gel-barrier tubes is not recommended due to slow absorption of the drug by the gel. Depending on the specimen volume and storage times, the decrease in drug level due to absorption may be clinically significant.

    Method and collection
    Method
    Microbroth dilution (MIC)

Panels that include this biomarker

  • Yeast Susceptibility Testing, Comprehensive Panel 183257

10 analytes · Pure culture yeast isolate recovered from a primary clinical specimen and identified as Candida species · Fasting not stated

    Method and collection
    Method
    Microbroth Dilution (MIC)
    Collection
Candida species derived from cultured clinical specimen; send pure culture on maintenance media. Maintain subculture at submitting laboratory. Organism must be actively growing in pure culture. Do not submit mixed cultures.

Single-analyte tests

  • Voriconazole 94096

Serum · Fasting not stated · Turnaround Set up: Mon-Sat

    Method and collection
    Method
    Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry
    Reference notes
Steady state trough levels are achieved within 1 day when an IV loading dose is used and after approximately 5 days of oral or IV therapy without a loading dose. Therapeutic range Prophylaxis: trough >0.5 mcg/mL Therapeutic range for treatment: trough 2.0-5.5 mcg/mL Serum trough levels ≥1 mcg/mL are reported to be associated with lack of therapeutic response and serum trough levels >5.5 mcg/mL have been reported to be associated with reversible neurological adverse events and hepatotoxicity. Co-administration of drugs that metabolically induce or inhibit CYP2C19, or other conditions that affect CYP2C19 may alter voriconazole metabolism.

Panels that include this biomarker

  • Susceptibility, Yeast, Comprehensive Panel 17823

10 analytes · Pure isolate collected on an agar slant in a double-walled container · Fasting not stated · Turnaround Set up: Daily; Report available: 3-5 days

    Method and collection
    Method
    Colorimetric Micro-broth Dilution
    Collection
Pure growth of isolated mature colonies of rapidly growing, non-fastidious yeast including Candida spp. and cryptococcus species, and miscellaneous other rapid growing yeast. Identification of the isolate is required.

We compile this page from named laboratory catalogs, guidelines and studies. Labs calculate reference intervals from the people they test, for one assay method and one population group, so an interval describes that population rather than an optimal target.
